Product Description Whether you are a theatrical entrepreneur, an investor, an attorney, or a student, and whether the production is on Broadway, off Broadway, Off Off Broadway, instock or repertory, the revised edition of this standard theatrical reference work tells you everything you need to know about raising money, obtaining rights, and bringing a play to the stage. Written by one of the country's leading theatrical attorneys, this easy-to-use guide includes all new budgets and has been brought up-to-date to cover all the important changes over the past seven years in the legal and business aspects of producing theater. Topics include: how to obtain a property, raising money and the necessary filings, contracts with producers and theaters, licensing for Broadway and out-of-town theater. Especially useful are the updated and expanded appendixes, which include actual examples of today's commonly used legal forms and contracts.

| Customer Reviews: Must have book for contract forms December 28, 2008 Mts Productions, LLC This book is what "This Business Of Music" is to the music industry. Invaluable insights into producing a "real" Broadway musical. Everything from securing rights to details on the internal workings of financing.
Only wish there were a version on CD ROM so the forms could be used as templates for our purposes.
Well worth the $$. Highly recommend!
You need this book. April 21, 2010 Theater Director and Producer Of all the books I have on the subject i have to say this one covers almost everything.
Many details December 27, 2009 MissWisc (Madison, WI) I found this book after getting the first edition from the local library and lamenting how woefully out of date it was. This third edition is more up to date and filled with all the little details one needs to produce on Broadway. It is rather dry reading, as contract language tends to be, but don't let that stop you from getting it. If you dream of producing live theatre, it's a must have!
