Product Description The most comprehensive collection of Broadway selections ever organized specifically for the singer. Each of the five volumes contains important songs chosen because of their appropriateness to that particular voice type. All selections are in their authentic form, excerpted from the original vocal scores. The songs in The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology, written by such noted composers as Kurt Weill, Richard Rodgers, Stephen Sondheim, and Jerome Kern, are vocal masterpieces ideal for the auditioning, practicing or performing vocalists. 46 songs, including: Where Or When * If I Loved You * Goodnight, My Someone * Smoke Gets In Your Eyes * Barbara Song * more.

Most Comprehensive Anthology I've Seen August 24, 1998 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
This book is very well organized, complete with a table of contents organized by musical, and summaries of each show for reference. The songs are presented in their original scores (no funky keys:). Althought this should be a part of every experienced singer;s library, those singers who have not had a couple years of either private training or music theory should skip it. Among certain circles, this is considered "The Bible" for young singers

A great series December 26, 2003 Rev. Mia Reeves (Laurel, MD United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's best to purchase all 3 of each anthology - I find Vol. 2 to be the best selection, but since each song is in the original key, it's a far cry from the pablum of typical "vocal selections" available. The only drawback - all the good audition pieces are showing up in these, and now everything's getting overused! :P
Happy October 7, 2009 Heather Lee Hirvela (Milwaukee, WI) This is a very good product. It shipped quickly and in great condition. I have gotten many audtion pieces from it.
MUST HAVE FOR SOPRANOS! May 6, 2010 KC (Long Beach, CA) I have used this book for years. The selection is wonderful. Most of the singers I know have a copy of this, and I tell all my soprano students to own their own. It is definitely a must have for any soprano who wants to work in the theater.Voice Lessons To Go's -Vocalize!
